Gaetan Chenier

Gaetan Chenier established the Chenier Group over a quarter of a century ago and remains its CEO. His principal role in the firm is real estate development and acquisitions and he is held in high regard by his professional peers.

Gaetan has an extensive background in both commercial and residential real estate and combines that with a thorough knowledge of office furnishings and design. In addition, he is well versed in LEED and is a strong proponent of the concept. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

The LEED concept focuses on green environmental sustainability that includes site development, water and energy efficiency, the types of materials utilized, and creating a healthy interior environment for those who work in the building. Because of Chenier’s commitment to LEED standards, a number of his firm’s more recent projects, notably the RCMP headquarters in Cornwall, Ontario are built to LEED standards.

Through his expertise, the Chenier Group has completed a broad range of acquisition and development projects with agencies such as London Life, the RCMP, Ontario Provincial Police, Infrastructure Ontario, Great West Life, Public Works Government Services of Canada and RBC Dominion Securities. In doing so, it has undertaken projects across Ontario and is currently active in the National Capital Region.

Chenier, a native of Cornwall, Ontario now resides in Ottawa. To relax, he enjoys his family and stays fit with regular workouts at The Athletic Club. Of note is the fact that he holds a Transport Canada Pilot’s license with both Instrument and night ratings.

Malcolm Macpherson

FMA, Property Manager

Having close to 10 years with the Chenier Group, Mr. MacPherson holds a key portfolio. As its property manager, he oversees all of the firm’s considerable real estate holdings with a focus on leasing, energy management, client and tenant relations, project management, and overall building management support.

Malcolm holds a Business Management Diploma from St. Lawrence College and augments that background with professional certification from the Building Owners & Managers Institute of Canada and is a certified Facilities Management Administrator. He also adds a background in the office furniture systems to his professional credentials.

Malcolm is a graduate pilot of the Ottawa Flying Club and enjoys an occasional flight around the eastern Ontario region. Enjoys golfing, hockey, baseball and is a big fan of football. Malcolm does all this while devoting the bulk of his leisure time with his family.

Nicolas Chenier

B.Comm., Property Manager

Nicolas has been involved in different facets of Chenier Group since 2011. As Chenier Group’s newest property manager, he brings knowledge from various sectors to provide alternative methods to managing the portfolio and project management.

Nicolas is a graduate from the Telfer School of Management with a Bachelor Degree of Commerce with concentration in Entrepreneurship studies. His education and experience in operations, project management, and finances have been a valuable asset to all Chenier Group’s operations.

Nicolas is also a private pilot like others at Chenier Group.  On his spare time he often works on vintage cars and enjoys fabrication and carpentry.

Christine Menard

Ms. Menard is responsible for carrying out bookkeeping activities for the Chenier Group using Simply Accounting and the real estate specific software, Yardi Genesis. In doing so, she brings over 25 years experience in the real estate and financial sectors to the firm.

Having worked with the Chenier Group for the past seven years, Ms. Menard is well versed in the intricacies of the firm’s reporting obligations and is particularly adept in dealing with the complexities of a wide range of government forms and procedures.

Christine has been able to juggle her bookkeeping activities with her family life that involves being supportive of her children’s extracurricular activities. From a personal perspective, she enjoys reading, running, hockey and travelling to other parts of North America.
